Salacca20 species. The genus Salacca is found through a broad region of Southeast Asia. The species are fiercely spiny and form dense clusters of short stems. The leaves of Salacca can be large and spectacular. Salacca zalacca is cultivated throughout Southeast Asia for its sweet fruits and can be grown in shaded, irrigated landscapes of South Florida.
